Sujet : Environmental image of additive technology
Additive production processes are processes that create products with the exact quantity of material needed. All the material removal operations formerly used in classical manufacturing processes are no longer necessary. Because of that, this technology is said to be sustainable. However they are material-powder based and energy-intensive processes. The aim of the project is to check if it is sustainable in any case. The work is based on the identification of the process and machine parameters that drive the environmental impacts followed by an assessment by an input/output method. Any person with an engineering background with skills and interest in manufacturing processes is welcome.
